Action Steps
1) Map your customer journey!
What do you want to have happen after you deliver that freebie?  Also, as you’re mapping it out, think of places where your customer’s action (or inaction) can tell you something about what to do next.
For example, my freebie teaches people how to create a WordPress site in 5 days. I send an email a day for 5 days. For example, what if you only open Day 1 and 2, and don’t open Day 3? What can I do to motivate you to continue, or get some feedback on why you stopped so I can improve my process?
Your customer journey doesn’t have to be complex – but I want you to map it out with intention. When are you delivering value? When are you connecting with your community on a more personal level? When are you selling? When are you asking for feedback? When are you motivating?
How far apart are you sending these emails? Daily? Weekly? Every few days? (The only right answer is the one that’s right for you, but map it with intention!) If someone opens email A, do you send them email B? If someone doesn’t open email A, do you send them email C? Those are the kinds of things I want you to think about as your developing a relationship with your customers.
2) Create segments and the automation emails based on the customer journey in Mailchimp. Use merge tags to personalize these emails.
3) Set up a goal for the sales page on your website and create a trigger to send an email when someone visits your sales page. That email can be a coupon, or an invitation to book a free consultation with you, or an offer to answer any questions they have about your product.
4) Set up Social Profiles and look at your demographics. Write them down below and refer to this when you start creating audiences for Facebook advertising!
5) Export your list and set a weekly reminder to export it.
