Speaker 1: [inaudible] Hey, Hey, Hey,

Speaker 2: How is every one? I'm so excited to have this topic, um, and to speak to each of you. And hopefully by the conclusion of our discussion today, you feel empowered and ready to tackle your entrepreneurial dreams, goals, whatever you want to call it, honey. Right? So thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Um, I love this topic. I totally geek out on this topic. So if it's a snooze Fest for you, I totally understand, but this is a critical part for every entrepreneur's journey. And I want you to grab that pen and paper because there's going to be a host of information that you could utilize today to really set a good foundation for your business growth.

Speaker 1: So

Speaker 2: Welcome. And I am Jasmine Haley. I am going to be your facilitator of this discussion and feel free to put down in the comment section where you're located, what kind of work that you do. I'm an award-winning national speaker podcaster pro educator, ambitious strategists. I am based out of North Carolina by way of New York city and sometime in Baltimore. So if there's anyone familiar with those locations, Hey, y'all, uh, you know, when I started my journey into entrepreneurship, it wasn't something that I just woke up and said, yes, this is exactly what it is that I want to do. Y'all it did not happen that way. In fact, my story began with burnout. I wound up being completely burnt out as a faculty member in a healthcare program in a community college. I was there full-time for four years and I wind up working in a very toxic work environment.

Speaker 2: I got extremely sick repeated hospital visits with numerous amounts of tests that could not tell me where my pain was coming from. And the other symptoms that I was dealing with. And what happened, what came to fruition was the manifestation of the chronic stress that was not being handled from the toxic work environment, from the host of other things that were on my plate through the death of my mother, not being able to grieve that all of it came tumbling down on me. And so I had to make a choice. Do I stay at this toxic work environment or do I leave? So I started my business. Y'all out of necessity and I did eventually leave that place of employment. So I know what it's like to be in a place where it's toxic and is not for you, but I'm here to assure you that with careful planning and setting up a strong business foundation, you can build a successful business as well.

Speaker 2: What was really important for me was to understand my God, given talents and abilities and learning how to package that into our framework, to be able to monetize it. So from my journey and leaving my toxic work environment, I was able to grow a six figure business by using my talents as a speaker, as an educator, I love to plan. I love organizing. So I've had hosts of, uh, events, I've hosted events virtually in person. I have speaking all over the country have educated, nearly 10,000 people with the topics, um, of my expertise. I have coach individuals in order to build their own business. I have also podcasted it and met so many amazing people along my journey. And it was all because I had the courage to take the driver's seat of my life and not allow fear to take its place. But of course, like most entrepreneurs that do not have a business background, I was all over the place.

Speaker 2: It was hot mess central. And so if this resonates with you, let me see an amen in the comments. Okay? Because I didn't know what in the world I was doing. I just knew I had a dream. I had an inkling, but I didn't really have a roadmap or a plan. And so with time I was able to develop that. And so what I'm going to share with you today is three critical areas that you need to make sure you have clear to make sure your business is organized and prepped for you to be able to grow it and scale it at some point. So when you're looking at your business, it's really hard because you were dealing with a nine to five or perhaps you are now a full-time entrepreneur. And one key thing I want you all to remember is that you don't have to choose, right?

Speaker 2: You can have both. You can decide to keep your business running and have a full-time job. There is nothing wrong with that, or even a part-time job, or you may decide, Hey, I want to just have my business, have that as my sole source of income. That is also fine. One of the biggest things that I want you to take away from this conference is you need to build your business with ease and choose what works best for you. And if what works best for you is to keep your nine to five as you're building your business. So be it, there's no cookie cutter approach to building your business. However you need to consider the big picture. Let me have you type into the comments, big picture, because as you're going about in your day to day interactions, it is so easy for you to be consumed and overwhelmed with what you have on your plate.

Speaker 2: But as a CEO of your business, I don't care if it's part-time or full-time. You have to look at your business with a global view, a full global view. You have to look at things with the big picture, because here are the facts. Many of us are like myself. I am a heart led purposeful entrepreneur, right? But burnout that I experienced in academia can happen the same way, this same exact way in your business. It happens all the time. Okay? And it can occur whether or not you're having a successful year. Maybe it's too many clients and your backend isn't ready to support it. Or maybe it's a challenging year. You're stressed out about finding prospective clients and then your business systems and your ability to delegate is a hot mess because there's no foundational core for the work that you're doing. We get tied down to the day to day. And it's so important whether you are working full-time or part-time on your business, that you focus on those income generating tasks. And there's going to be some key elements that I'm going to share with you in the short period of time that we have together, that I want you to keep the focus on. At all times.

Speaker 2: I want you to consider this, how are you creating a transformative experience for your clients? What do you want your clients to feel after they complete your services or after they've experienced a product that you've created, right? Because not everyone is a service-based entrepreneurs. Some of us are product based entrepreneurs. What's your client journey, right? What do you want them to say after they have come into your circle of influence? That's a critical part because that's going to help you to appreciate and honestly assess where you're lacking in your business because your clients and your customers are everything. When my business was growing, my speaking engagements didn't come from me, soliciting people. It came from me giving 150% every single time that I spoke, whether it was virtual or in-person. So the referrals that you get, the clients that you get in your business, always more than likely high percentage of them will be repeat customers.

Speaker 2: So what kind of journey are you providing for your clients? Customers? What do you want them to say or feel what kind of wins do you want them to have? Always keep that at the forefront? Because if you're looking at the model that you're going to create for your business, if there's something lacking in there, it will show itself and that will not contribute to longevity in your business. So we've got to find ways in which we can nip that in the bud. The next thing you want to consider is are your systems connected? Are they automated, right? Do you have some tasks where you don't even have to think about it, it's working on the backend for you? Or do you, or are you in the situation where you have multiple, I'm talking about multiple technology and software. That's not connected. You often have to choose this software and that software and this software and that software and a five minute tasks.

Speaker 2: If it was automated, has now become a 45 minute to an hour task. So where in your business do you feel the most pain? Right? Cause it really does feel like pain. Where are you finding most of that overwhelm that you feel like, man, I cannot wait to get this off of my plate. How can I delegate this? Okay. So these are important questions to ask yourself as we're going through the top three things that I want you to consider with organizing and prepping your businesses scale. But most importantly, none of this matters. If you're not reframing your mind, if you're not taking the time to think, you know what? This isn't a passion project, this is actually going to be a business that I can grow. You have to take the necessary steps to be organized. It's a non-negotiable it has to happen, right?

Speaker 2: You may not be that perfect with it, but if you get yourself somewhat organized, what can happen, you can outsource, you can delegate as necessary. You can get the people who are experts to come in and help you. It will also help you to develop boundaries within your business because let's face it our life and our businesses are connected. And if your life is out of whack, so is your business. And if your business out of whack, it will contribute down and trickle down into your life. So we have to develop boundaries within our business and in our professional life. And then we need to get strategic because we all have a God given purpose. We all have a purpose here in life and everything that you do should be set with intention. So we, I just finished setting my goals, right. And, and figuring out how can I show up with intention?

Speaker 2: How do I want to feel after the completion of a year? Right? How do I want to step into the, to the rooms that I step into? Are they in full alignment and my decisions and who I let into my life with my core values. And what's most important to me, those are key things that you need to consider any time you're planning, organizing business, and setting yourself up to grow. Our biggest downfall though, in this process is our ego ego gets in a way because we feel like, well, I can do all of this all on my own or ah, no one could do it just like me, right? No one can do it as perfect as I can or ego tells us, well, you're not enough, right? That's a false narrative story that tends to come in that prevents us from reaching our highest level.

Speaker 2: So our ego gets in the way, our trust, our lack of trust in ourselves and our abilities and our God given abilities and our, um, lack of trust in the people that we hire, because we're not really clear on what it is that we want or what our desires are. And then our lack of organization. Y'all a lack of organization is, has been some of the biggest downfalls to business owners that are creating a business for longevity. We're not getting into business to fail, right? We want it see it when we want to be able to reach our goals. So if you are ready to step into that CEO role, I want you to type in the comments. I'm ready. Okay. Type in you're ready. So whether you're not, you have a part-time, uh, uh, entrepreneur nor ship role or a full-time entrepreneurship role. You need to be ready to step into that CEO role.

Speaker 2: So let's go over the three ways to prep your scale. Okay. In relation to your course in relation to, so I put in course here, because some of us want to create courses, but in relation to your business and relation to the products, I want you to use that interchangeably. It doesn't matter what type of business model you have or service or product that you're offering. You all need to have these three things. So I want you to type into the comments, MPC M P C go ahead and type in MPC. And that stands for a model plan construct. All right. Let's say that again, MPC. So that stands for model plan and construct. So let's look at the model aspect. Okay. Are you selling a course or program? Are you selling a product? How do you want to build your business? How and what type of offers are you going to be selling?

Speaker 2: Or what type of products are you going to be selling? And for how much, what are some little known facts about courses versus programs for versus one-on-one versus group versus a product that also has a course along with it. So there are so many things that we have to consider as we're building our business, but it's imperative that you're clear, very crystal clear on the model that you want to start with. Now listen with entrepreneurship. We will have many changes, many, many, many changes along the way. You're going to find that you're going to adapt. You're going to be flexible. You may need to pivot. You're going to evolve, whatever word choice you want to use, there will be changes. But when you start off planning for your year and planning out for the year, quarter, month, week, day, you should know exactly the business model that you're going to use.

Speaker 2: So what I want you to do is to say, all right, I want to do one-on-one coaching. In addition to that, I'm going to add in a mastermind program, along with that, right? I want to add in a course with that. Okay? So whatever choice you make, be very clear on what that is. And then what offers are going to be associated with your business and how much you're going to charge for that. And dependent upon what you charge. We'll give you the exact amount that you need to actually sell. That will also keep you extremely strategic and where you spend your time. Because if you know that key component of your business is having one-on-one clients, then you need to make sure that you're spending enough time in your business, collecting those one-on-one clients, finding those prospects, finding the leads, being very clear and sure of how many of those one-on-one clients you need every month to reach your goal, which then will contribute to your annual revenue goal.

Speaker 2: The other thing I want you to know is is that some people choose models that they feel like, okay, this will be scalable and easy, but some models you may need to pump the brakes on so that you are extremely clear on who it is that you serve. Some models like courses and programs and things of that nature require you to fully understand who your ICA is. Your ideal client, avatar, understanding who they are, what their needs are, working with them for some time, doing clear market research on what their desires are before you make the course. I was infamous of starting things way too early without doing that market research, without understanding what my client's needs were without actually getting some one-on-one experience with them prior to making that, that signature program or that course. So just be mindful as you're choosing the model, you choose something that you can build your business with ease, especially at the beginning of your side hustle.

Speaker 2: You really want to be in the place of what is the most efficient way that I can serve at the best level, based on my strengths and my talents that I can monetize and bring money into the, into my business. If you're not tech savvy right now is not a good time to take on a course, right? Maybe it's time for you to use a one-on-one approach and use that model. So choose what fits best for you. Not based on what a girl says, not based on what I say, but really what's best for you based on your talents. Here's the key concept that I want you to remember. If you don't know where you're going, your biz will not be cohesive. So you've got to be really clear on that model, the offers and how that aligns with your revenue and therefore you can't be profitable.

Speaker 2: So just like if you were to head out into a car, a car somewhere and go somewhere, you've never been before, what are you going to put on and on your phone, right? We're going to use the GPS right before GPS. It was Tom, Tom before Tom, Tom was the actual map for those that can remember that, right? So we use directions and a roadmap. When we're going through our day to day, it's the same exact concept that you want to take in your business. We have to plan. We have to plan. So consider this. When was the last time you assessed your business? What was the last time you actually take a deep dive in your business and looked at what was working, what wasn't working. When was the last time that you actually took some metrics down of your business, even see what was working.

Speaker 2: If you're not measuring what's going on, who's buying what, um, what avenues that you're using to find prospective clients, which ones are working and which ones are not, how would you know where to keep your time focused on so that you can keep focus on those income generating tasks. So taking the time to assess your business routinely is essential. I'm looking at weekly, what am I doing to help support my business every single day and to strategically scale or grow because there's different phases. So at the very beginning of business, you are at that growth phase. Once you've locked down and you're close to five figure months, you're ready for that scaling phase, right? Once you are ready to hit the six figures and you're ready to go beyond now, you're really scary scaling. So we want to look at whether we're growing or scaling.

Speaker 2: It doesn't matter if sales right were to increase. Could you handle them? A lot of us are like, well, I want to make $50,000 a month and I want to make 60,000 a month. And I want to make a hundred thousand a month. But if you scale today at that rate, think about the influx of clients and customers that you have. Could you handle that with your structure of your business, be able to handle that for many of us we're not ready, right? So let's keep the focus on empowering our clients, empowering our customers, focus on that client journey plan, right? Break down your goals into small mini mini steps or mini goals. As you continue assessing your business and looking at, okay, this is where I need to be focusing my attention on why, because if you don't know where you're going, your biz will not be cohesive and therefore it will not be profitable. We want to create profitable businesses. You can be a heartless, purposeful entrepreneur and still have a profitable business.

Speaker 2: Finally construct. Now we're looking at the system. So remember MPC, MPC, go ahead and type into the chat. MPC. Do you have systems in place in your business that for your client's journey, you're not dropping the ball or are you dropping the ball? Are you forgetting to send out emails? Are you forgetting to check in, are you forgetting to send them a notices of when a product or a service or whatever the case may be is available? Are you clear on the transformation that you're going to provide for your clients or your customer? Okay. How you're going to do that? What are the actual steps in their journey that you're going to achieve for them? And does your business fit around your life or is your business running you? If you're finding that you have no time for self care, if you finding that you're more irritable towards your family, because you're working nonstop, then you have to look for ways in which to get organized and to create those systems.

Speaker 2: For instance, one key thing that I use to keep myself on track is a project management board, a task management board. I don't care which tech software you decide to use. My choice is a sauna. You could use notion you can use click up. You can use Monday, you can use Trello. There are so many things out there that you can use. However, I know that when I was ready to delegate and get someone to help me, or I know when I'm accepting more clients, I am tracking myself and reminding myself daily of the tasks that I need to do. Why? Because I'm a busy mom of two, I'm a wife. I am an individual besides all of those things. And I'm a CEO of a business. So I have to make sure that I stay on task and I create the systems in place to help me do that.

Speaker 2: Are how are you collecting your emails? How are you having all of the tech that you've purchased? Talk to one another where someone purchases an item and then they get sent an email. There are ways in which you connect. There are tech that allow that to make that an easy process for you. So the first thing I want to state is that if you feel overwhelmed at one particular part of your business, you can create something called an SOP, a standard operating procedure. Just write on a piece of paper, exactly the step-by-step of how to write your blog, how to upload your blog, whatever it is. So say for instance, that was the pain in the back of your neck, right? Which is uploading your blog. And you're so done with that. It's taking too long, too much time on your part. You're ready to delegate that.

Speaker 2: Well, you would actually construct the step-by-step steps on how to do that. And now you're ready to delegate. Now you can just give that to someone else because you've constructed the actual system in place on how to do it so that you can delegate it and get it off your plate. So you can serve as a CEO of your business. For many years, I was the only person in my business and that's okay. I had contractors that came in, but what ease the process for me? What stopped me from being overwhelmed, even from hiring people was actually creating those systems, writing those SLPs, tracking my key performance indicators, which are KPI, understanding where my business was and finding ways that I can fully serve my clients without being bogged down by the day to day. So what I want you to lock down is once you have the MPC, right, go ahead and type in the comments again, MPC.

Speaker 2: This is what I want you to lock down. I want you to lock down your methods of how you're going to acquire money into your business. Because unfortunately as much as we want to serve from the heart, we need money to keep going on, right? You need money to pay your bills. You need money to, uh, to get your family's. There needs to purchase something nice for yourself because we're all deserving a worthy things. Once you lock down those methods, make sure they are aligned with the goals in your revenue. Okay. And make sure that those methods are aligned with the systems that you have in your business and your client journey, by getting organized with your methods and how they're going to be aligned with your goals and your revenue, setting up the systems, to be able to support that, and then understanding how your client journey is impacted by the systems that you have by the choices, with the methods that you've chosen in order to provide them their transformation, it will alleviate so much on your shoulders and will also allow you to be able to onboard a team at some point in time, sooner than you realize, right sooner than you realize.

Speaker 2: And what you need to keep in mind is the sooner that you organize your business, the less of a headache you will have in the future. Trust me on this. The sooner you organize is actually easier to organize when you're first starting in comparison to being in business for several years, and then introducing a system. We have systems already that we're using every day. We have a system when we're taking our children to school, we have a system when we're cooking a special dish dish, that recipe that's outlined. Those steps that are outlined is a system. So learn to think of that, that way and understand that when we keep that information tucked up in our head, and it's nowhere else to be found that will not allow you to be able to grow your business in a way to onboard the right people, to help support you so that you can continue to achieve your goals.

Speaker 2: And many entrepreneurs have a hard time reaching that six figure Mark and beyond because of the fact that we haven't set up that business foundation. We don't know our model. We haven't planned accordingly, and we haven't built the constructs to be able to support that. So I hope this encouraged you along the way and understanding some simple ways in which you should access yourself. And one of the key thing I want you to remember is this is not something that's built overnight. Okay. This is a day to day decision to tackle one thing at a time. So you choose your biggest pain point right now in your business. And you focus on that one thing and you focus on getting that win and then move on to the next and each time that you tackle one smaller task off of your plate, or one smaller aspect of your business and get that organized, you're going to be able to breathe more Bree, right?

Speaker 2: And that's all we want to do is be able to serve people in a purposeful and impactful way. And you can do so. And you can do so with a full amount of longevity, right? Because this is not a sprint. This is a marathon y'all, but we all have a choice at the end of the day, our choice is either to act or on it or an action to remain in the status quo. So if you know, you're struggling with this, check out the resources I've provided for you to assess your business, as well as to check out the tech that I love in order to simplify and reduce some of that overwhelm, you feel in your business. I want to end the presentation with a quote. I love to start with a quote. I didn't start with a quote for this one because we only have a short period of time together, but I love to end with a quote. And the quote is if you want to conquer fear, because we all have fear, right? Don't sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy. Honey. I've added honey Dale, Carnegie. Didn't say that, but I added honey.

Speaker 2: All right. I hope to hear from you. Please feel free to contact me. Tell me what your thoughts are. What worked for you? What areas do you feel stuck? I'm here for you. I'm a resource and I cannot wait to see you all pursue and achieve your entrepreneurial goals. Thank you for your time.
